Fade Friday – Pure Blue Japan XX-007 (8.5 Years, Unknown Washes)

The time has come for another Fade Friday. This time, we are featuring a pair of Pure Blue Japan XX-007s from Alex Porter of sunny Los Angeles, California. These PBJs are proof that if you just wear your jeans and put some effort into repairing them, they will continue to develop and transform into something you can be proud of.

Alex wore these all throughout high school, college and beyond. He wore them around the world when he traveled. We don’t know where he went, but we can only imagine these baby blues seeing the wonders of the world, soaking in the fades monument by monument, and apparently leaving littles pieces everywhere they went.

There has been a great deal of indigo loss, so much so that the thighs and seat have stripped down to nearly white. The most notable feature of this pair is the sheer amount of repairs that are visible. Different patches and evidence of darning are littered across the denim. The darning was done at Self Edge and Alex did the sashiko stitch repairs himself.
