Most people associate Cone Mills denim with charmingly authentic Americana-style fades, but judging by this pair of Left Field Greaser 13 oz., it would seem that Cone denim has a lot more up its sleeve. They come to us via Codey Thompson in Ontario, Canada, who’s been working on these fades for eighteen months.
Codey tells us he’s used these jeans as everyday throw-ons, so they’ve accompanied him for the brunt of his daily activities. With two soaks and two washes recorded, the denim is now a lovely palette of grainy indigo tones and washed whites. The whiskers stacked up nicely in the lap, and on the reverse, a pair of solid honeycombs have come through to match. But that’s not all. Codey’s Left Fields have also developed the subtle details that make a great pair of faded jeans, like the rugged roping down the inseam and hems, and the rich patina of the leather waist patch.
