Veg-tan goods never get old…well, the leather gets older, but the concept of a light-colored textile darkening and blemishing with age and wear does not. Today’s Fade of the Day is the Bulgarian-made Mental Syndicate Mentalwave Key Holder, used by Velimir Bachev.

After three years of daily use hanging from a belt loop over Velimir’s back pocket, the initially creamy tan key holder has clashed with debris and dust, and has received plenty of patina. When he bought it, there was already a gloss finish, which has been accentuated by time and oils, causing the surface to darken and deepen in color. The whole ensemble has picked up indigo from his jeans, giving it that much more character.
