Quality denim is built for abuse, but some activities are harsher on our blue friends than others. Bicycle riding is one of those activities which, despite producing great fades, can lead to a variety of blow outs.

For Edmund Yan of New York, everyday biking during his college years has produced the insanely contrasted honeycombs, whiskers and stacks in this pair of Iron Heart 301s’s. Rigorous courses and commutes also led to some much-needed darning at about a year into wear. In the time since, more blow outs have torn their way through to the knees, crotch, and seat. That being said, after hundreds of wears and only a few washes, these jeans have survived the abuse and now get to thrive in retirement.
