Sassafras’ Denim Shorts Handle Summer Gardening and Everyday Carry Equally Well

Sassafras has been supplying gardening-inspired goods to green-fingered (and non-green-fingered) folks since 2004. Like, I do have a philodendron, but the balance between her thriving green leaves and her crunchy yellow ones is about equal—which doesn’t qualify me for a green thumb, let alone a green pinky.

But Sassafras will have to forgive me for using their Fall Leaf Sprayer 1/2 Pants outside of the garden and instead as a substitute for a day bag. Sure, it’s got enough pockets for spades, shears, and whatever else gardeners use, but it can just as easily hold everything a typical non-gardener would need for the day: keys, wallet(s), headphones, backup headphones, a pocket novel, a Phaidon photography book, and an 11-inch Macbook. Not only do you avoid a sweaty back from not having to haul a backpack all day, the fact that they’re exactly one half of a full pant means you’ll be kept extra cool the entire time. They’re made in Japan using a 13.5oz. indigo denim and they feature a button fly, triple-needle crotch gusset and felled seams throughout. And did we mention that it has pockets?
