Tanuki’s “Blueprint” Remaps the Type III Jacket in an Earthy 18oz. Denim

Tanuki returns with their rendition of the classic Type III denim jacket, an earthy version with some noticeable updates. Officially dubbed the EJKT3, they’re calling it their “Blueprint” because it tweaks the tried and true trucker to their unique tuning. While copper buttons, a pleated front, chest pockets, and deerskin leather patch aren’t out of the ordinary, the asymmetric pocket flaps paired with electric blue accents at the top button, side seams and at the cuff’s buttonholes set the jacket happily off-kilter. They’ve also elongated the torso and included welted hand pockets which have Tanuki’s signature gingham pocket bags.

With all this, the main draw is still the fabric itself. The jacket uses their ‘Earth Denim’, an unsanforized, once-washed 18oz. selvedge denim with an indigo warp and a beige weft which begins as a slubby and hairy denim that’s expected to fade into more subtle, toned-down hues.
