Fade of the Day – Momotaro x Japan Blue 0700SP (3 Years, 3 Washes)

For Today’s Fade of the Day, we’re bringing a heavy dose of high-contrast Japanese denim fades for you! Farhan Fauzan from Bandung, Indonesia sent in these faded Momotaro x Japan Blue 0700SPs that have been worn for three years, have only been washed three times, and are chock-full of fades.

The Indonesian climate, along with limited washing helped to keep the indigo in place, while simultaneously creating extremely contrasted fades. Despite considerable indigo loss in the thighs, where the natural white has popped through, there is a good deal of overlying dirty fading. The whiskering in the knee is the most extreme and it wraps around the side right into heavy honeycombing behind. The signature Momotaro painted white pocket lines have faded considerably and there are imprints in the pockets from wear.
