Tellason’s Oxford Button Down Shirt Gets a Dip in Natural Indigo

The oxford shirt was no doubt pioneered by preppy predecessors like Brooks Brothers and J. Press, but this button-down has been given the Tellason treatment.

Cut and sewn in Italy from a heavyweight 100% cotton oxford cloth, the shirt is then dyed with natural indigo by Mineral Workshop, an art and textile design studio based in Fairfax, just a stone’s throw from Tellason’s headquarters. Mineral Workshop dips this fabric 8-10 times in a vat of natural indigo before leaving it to oxidize. The result? A rich-yet-soft indigo tone similar to a mid-century chambray. With enough wear, this fabric will develop subtle fades at the stress points and become more unique with each wash. Each shirt is finished with a single chest pocket, curved hem, and contrasting buttons.

Available at Tellason for $250.
