Red Wing Heritage Debuts Their Black Prairie Leather in This Blacksmith Boot

Red Wing Heritage has been playing the boot game for a little while now, and they’ve just unveiled a new leather in their classic Blacksmith style.

All the classic details for the all-purpose work-by-day, play-at-night boot are still present: 6-inch height, round toe styling, Goodyear welt construction, Vibram 430 mini-lug, triple-stitched construction, leather insole and laced with a combination of speed hooks and eyelets. Where this pair stands on its own is in the brand new, Black Prairie leather, a brown leather that’s been overdyed black, similar to their Klondike leather. The edges of the hide show the brown that’s hiding underneath the coat of black on the face of the hide, and as you wear the boot that black top coat will eventually wear off, allowing the brown to come into view. Patina in reverse.

Available for $300 at Franklin And Poe.
