Benzak Saddles Up with Their BDJ-01 Cowboy Jacket

Sometimes a good jacket is a good jacket, and Benzak’s BDJ-01 Cowboy Jacket fits the bill. Is it a full-stop reinvention of the Levi’s Type I-Type II wheel? Absolutely not, but this unauthorized franchise reboot thoughtfully borrows from both designs for a modern-fitting, classically-styled hybrid that’s begging to be layered.

Made in Portugal with an exclusively developed sanforized 15oz. selvedge denim provided by the famed Candiani Mill, it features a point collar, pleating at either side of the placket, patch pockets at the waist and a longer fit through the body than the designs that inspired it.

And for those of you into symbolism—I assume you exist—Benzak is saying that the shade of indigo was chosen to represent the ‘50s and ‘60s, and that the blue was combined with orange to mark the friendship between the Italian mill and the Dutch manufacturer. Or it just looks good. Either way.
