Just because you’re a dad in jeans doesn’t mean your jeans have to be “dad jeans”. Heddels reader and denim fan David Oliver of NYC has worn this pair of Levi’s American-Made 501 STFs for over four years now, and attributes a lot of his fades to life as a father. As a result, they’re also our Fade of the Day.

From attending his son’s hockey games to getting down and dirty with some yard work on the weekends, David knows that good jeans are even better when they’re worn hard. The result, as you can see, is some high contrast and classic, American-made fades.

Up front, we can see lightened thighs and white knees leading down to some awesomely textured stacks around the ankles. Around back, we can see some excellent pocket fades and ever so subtle honeycombs starting to shine through. I guess being a good dad can earn you some good fades, too!
