Fade of the Day – Dior 19 cm Brut (7 Years, 7 Washes, 2 Soaks)

We kind-of-recently had one pair of Dior jeans come through these parts and we figured it was likely a one-time-affair. But lo and behold, we’ve got another pair as our Fade Of The Day.

It really shouldn’t have come as a surprise. After all, Dior jeans were popular in the early days of raw denim  here in the west. Before there were thousands of high-end imports engineered for fades, Dior was one of the few brands besides Levi’s that the consumer could trust to provide excellent fades.

France’s Fabien Malmasson bought these Dior Brut 19 cm’s 7 years ago and with no special fade formula, he has still managed to find himself with a wonderfully aged pair. In fact, they’ve turned into the quintessential blue jean. They hit all the bases: the indigo loss at the front thigh and rear seat, decent whiskers and honeycombs, and traces of tears peppered throughout.
