Stevenson’s Big Sur Jeans Flies Their Arcuate Over the Edge

Stevenson, in that top tier of denim brands when it comes to the details. Their 14oz. slim tapered Big Sur Jean, a new model for FW’18, remains true to Stevenson form as there is no dearth for details: tucked and angled belt loops, beautiful single-needle stitching, and their signature curved back pockets are but a few.

What’s sure to grab attention though, is Stevenson’s arcuates. While many denim companies go to great lengths to emulate specific jeans from yesteryear, there’s only so far you can go towards emulating a pair of Levi’s before the cease and desist letters flood the PO Box, and for this reason, the famed Levi’s arcuate is forbidden. Stevenson steps right up to the edge, literally, by placing the trademarked seagull over the top edge of each rear pocket as well as the coin pocket, (barely) obscuring the recognizable stitching. Cheeky. And downright ballsy.
