Celebrations manifest themselves in all sorts of wild ways—shoutout that one Eagles fan who ran into a pole and the other who ate… yeah—but because Pilgrim Surf + Supply never stops Getting It, they opted to celebrate their Tokyo store’s third anniversary by teaming up with Danner for a winter boot that pretty much has everything but a snowplow on the front.
Using the Danner Light model as a starting point, the two employed the classic design as a canvas to get wild and tactical in all the best, monochromatic ways.
For starters, the jet-black boots incorporate three separate leathers—oiled, polished and suede—into a Cordura nylon upper that look damn-near apocalypse ready. But because features are always fun (and necessary in this rare case), these also include a removable zipper at the laces, a military-grade, abrasion-resistant Vibram outsole and a toe-saving GORE-TEX waterproof lining, just for good measure.
So, to recap: celebrations are a mixed bag (I buy things that I shouldn’t buy, for one), but Pilgrim did it real right for winter.
