Bape’s Latest Jacket Blends Denim with Every Other Fabric

Coming in like a peanut butter and ham sandwich (but one also made on Frosted Brown Sugar Pop Tarts, with shelled sunflower seeds and Bacon Bits added for texture), A Bathing Ape (Bape) released what they’re calling the Down Wide Denim jacket. Behold.

Made primarily with a cotton denim fabric that’s been dyed a deep indigo, this mixed metaphor of a jacket also has a shearling collar, nylon patches at the yoke, cuffs, and pockets, a shirting hem, snap-button cuffs and contrasting gussets at the underarms.

Because it’s Bape, their signature Gorilla-motif camo is aggressively splashed across most of the back, a feature made even more pronounced due to the jacket’s paneled construction.

Oh yeah, it’s also a down jacket, because why wouldn’t it be. This one looked inside every warming tray at the Outerwear Buffet and just said “Sure.”

Unfortunately, you can’t get it just yet, unless you live in Toronto. If you do, however, you can find it at Haven for $596 USD ($790 CAD).
