Fade of the Day – Red Wing 1907 (3 Years)

These Red Wing 1907 Moc Toe Boots have 3 years of consistent wear on them, and they’ve patinated nicely, with a few beautiful layers of brown painted on by time and use. Hence, they’re today’s Fade of the Day.

The patina that can be had on Red Wing’s ‘Rough and Tough Copper’ leather is a sight to behold: they’ve achieved a rich caramel brown that many boot heads pine over, and they’re in great shape to beat the streets for years to come.

The toe box is intact, with little wear on the top seam, so these have been taken care of quite well. Little to no scratching on the surface of the grain, just some sweet darkening of leather to admire. There’s some interesting contrasting grain patterning on the uppers, and a scuff mark on the inside of the left boot. Overall nicely worn, the patina is the standout, as they don’t look overly stretched and certainly won’t be retired anytime soon.
