Fade Friday – NBDN TJA501XX Hachiko IV (15 Months, 1 Wash, 1 Soak)

A little over a year of daily wear in Indonesia will get you some great fades, and for Aditya Miftah, they’re absolutely stellar. His pair of NBDN‘s are so stellar, we held them back for our Fade Friday.

What sets this pair apart from the other amazing jeans we see is the hard work Aditya did in this pair. Heavy manual labor in hot, humid conditions, specifically. The fades appear to sweep further along the pant leg than usual, which may indicate the jeans drape in a fuller fit, rather than cling. Further evidence can be seen around back, where some serious honeycombs stretch from his hamstrings down to his calves. My favorite part of this jean is how it displays areas of deep indigo retention at the front top block and hemline, and how the indigo loss is fairly consistent from both directions towards the knee. However, at the rear, the difference between the indigo retained areas and the stretches of heavy indigo loss is far more distinct.

Besides heavy fades, this pair shows us how its wearer has lived his life this past year. And from what we can tell, it’s been a year well-lived!
