John Lofgren and Standard & Strange Get Fired Up For This Joint Boot

Oakland’s finest, Standard & Strange, continues their growing relationship with fellow Californian and master craftsman John Lofgren, for a new and exclusive release of the ‘Devil’s Causeway’ Horsehide Engineer Boot.

Made from a custom last designed by Lofgren to give a true 1950s silhouette with no toe bump and a slight taper to the shape, the dark cherry Shinki horsehide is going to age beautifully and develop a great patina. Don’t just take our word for it, check out the worn-in photos over at S&S. The hide has been specifically chosen to bring out the true character of the leather—scars, marks, grain variation and all. And you guessed it, every pair will be different and unique.

The boots also feature steel shanks, British Goodyear welting, US made Vibram soles and heel units, brass-coated steel buckles made in Tokyo, and even the labels are made on vintage shuttle looms. Produced in Sendai at one of the finest footwear factories, you’re not going to want to miss this one. Truly exclusive and a rare opportunity to invest in a pair of engineers that’ll last a lifetime.

Available for $1,200 via pre-order from Standard & Strange.
