Pure Blue Japan Buttons Up a Woolen Type III Jacket

It’s really winter, guys. It took a second, but we got there. Five minutes ago, I was walking around my apartment holding a space heater like a boombox, still trying to wear all the things I was wearing when I wasn’t mainlining soup. (It didn’t work.) If I was a Type-III guy, however, I could’ve just switched the normal one out with this 6091 Wool Type-3 from Pure Blue Japan and gotten on with my season.

Made (as always) in Japan, this winter-ready take on the timeless silhouette was crafted with a crazy useful, indigo-dyed 65/25/10 cotton/wool/tetrone blend. Does it wear like denim? Not 100 percent sure, but available information says it comes once-washed and it should fade all the same, so let’s go with most likely.

Outfitted with all the classic Type III trappings — reinforced chest pockets, custom-branded iron buttons, a deerskin leather patch and chainstitch construction — plus some cold-weather-friendly pockets at the waist, this actually is a jean jacket built for winter.
