Fade of the Day – Unknown Vintage Sherpa Vest (10+ Years)

Today’s Fade of the Day is a vintage sherpa-lined leather vest sent to us by Jake Gillespie of Tucson, Arizona. Jake inherited this hearty work vest from his great-grandfather. Intergenerational fading isn’t cheating!

This is Jake’s go-to work vest to keep him safe as he toils in his woodworking endeavors. The leather has softened up to the point where it’s buttery soft with perfectly worn edges. The metal snap buttons have shed their paint, for a golden patina. The lining, with the exception of a few minor holes, is holding up nicely.

All in all, this vest shows plenty of character and with continued care could last a few more generations.
