Freenote Cloth blew me away only a few months back with the introduction of their then-newest cut, the Wilkes. Now, barely two months into the new year, the surfin’ cowboys behind this great American brand have come through with yet another new cut.
Freenote’s newest addition to their already-prodigious denim lineup is called The Belford and it takes its inspiration from the wider-leg classic jeans of the 1950s. The Belford has everything you love about Freenote: the characteristic, reinforced pockets, a two-piece waistband, and 1/8″ double needle detailing, but just with more room all over. A flattering high rise is complemented by roomy thighs which fall straight down to a relatively wide leg opening. Thanks to that special Freenote touch, these 501-esque jeans don’t read all that repro-y. Instead, they exude what the brand is all about: ease of wear, laidback cool, and some of the best jeans the U.S.A. has to offer.
