For today’s Fade of the Day, Joel Celén of Sweden has given us a refreshing denim palette cleanser with his Red Wing Moc Toe 877 boots.

Proclaimed as the best boots he’s ever worn, Joel has used these boots in the cold Swedish winters for over a decade. After three resoles, these boots are still kicking. As you would expect from a boot that has outlasted three soles, the leather is resilient and shows a lot of character. There is a beautiful gradient going on where the top shows a reminisce of what the leather looked like when they were first purchased.

When you go down the boot, the leather ages more and more, becoming darker and richer. By the time you get to the toe and sides right above the sole, the leather has collected a black patina that perfectly compliments the boots.
