Fade of the Day – Dr. Martens 1461 Vintage (20 Years)

Think about it: when these shoes were brand new, Bill Clinton was the US President, smartphones didn’t exist, Eiffel 65 was popular, and people used Napster. That’s right, today’s Fade of the Day is a pair of Dr. Martens 1461 Vintage shoes in black that go back to 1998.

Heddels reader John McGuinness of Portland, Oregon, sent us in pics of his 20-year-old shoes that have held up very well considering he wore them daily and never repaired them. His care regimen? Monthly conditioning and shining of the leather uppers, that’s it!

Suffice to say he’s earned himself a new pair by now; will they last 20 years as well?
