18east Goes Global With Their Tsomo Indigo Khadi Chore Bomber

With 18east you’re always in store for a twist or two, and to be frank, we appreciate it. Those of us that follow menswear put in the time to keep track of the latest, and it’s the unexpected gems that make it worthwhile. To that point, their Tsomo Indigo Khadi Chore Bomber is no exception as this east-meets-west affair is a gem for sure.

With the Tsomo, 18east combines the deep indigo-dye and tie-closure elements of a chore coat style worn by the Black Hmong tribe in Vietnam and applies them to a Khadi fabric—an Indian cotton textile that requires no electricity to produce—in a bomber jacket silhouette to create something we’ve certainly never seen before. Preppy elements like a point collar (that’s really a spread), flapped pockets, and short length pairs extremely well with the khadi cloth, indigo dye, and tie-closure so much so that this piece may coin a new phrase: east-meets-ivy.
