Boncoura’s 14.5oz. Type Z Denim Zips Up Mid-Century Details

Originally seen on mid-1950’s Levi’s 501 jeans, the ‘Z’ model included a zip fly for the first time. Supposedly developed for the East Coast market and a move away from a more traditional workwear button fly, this design change was accompanied by a more relaxed tapered fit. Boncoura has taken these details and added their own spin to create their ‘Type Z’ model.

Made from a 14.5oz. Japanese super smooth denim with purple selvedge ID, they feature herringbone twill (HBT) pocket bags, deerskin leather patch, ‘pinched’ back pockets and copper rivets. Made from a rich pure indigo, they will age with high contrast fades and the denim is sanforized, so you don’t have to worry about shrinkage. They’re cut with a high rise and a relax taper, they’re made in Japan to boot.

Available for $495AUD (~$355USD) at Corlection.
