Companion’s Nevada Jacket is 14oz. of Deadstock White-Hot White Oak Denim

Companion Denim’s taking pre-orders for their latest riff on the classic Type 2 denim jacket, the Nevada Jacket, in dead stock 14oz. Ecru White Oak Cone Selvedge Denim. It’s a refined spin on a pleated jacket style that you might have seen on the shoulders of a turn-of-the-century worker, coal miner, or cowboy. Companion’s inspiration spanning a decade, they know that what isn’t broke doesn’t need fixing, just some sensible updating.

The Nevada Jacket has a ton of features: two-pleat front design, featuring circular bar tack reinforcement on the pleats, felled seams throughout, corozo buttons, selvedge details on the cuffs and button placket, duck canvas-lined pockets and collar, two front flap pockets with triangular leather patch reinforcements, and a back leather patch. all made in Companion’s sewing studio in Barcelona. That exhaustive list of details is enough to make this jacket more than worthy on its own. But the main attraction of this run is the extremely limited fabric—deadstock Cone Mills White Oak selvedge denim. The white-hot take on the Type II might not help you strike it rich panning for gold, but you’ll at least get a good patina while you’re out there.

Available for pre-order until April 14 at Companion.
