Fade of the Day – Banana Republic Selvedge (1 Year, 2 Washes, 4 Soaks)

Today’s Fade of the Day is a two-for-one: we have a pair of Banana Republic selvedge jeans made with Kaihara Mills denim and a GAP leather belt.

These two items come to us from Patrick of Lansing, Michigan. These were his first pair of raw, selvedge jeans and he wore them almost every day for the past year, with the exception of an exceptionally hot and muggy part of the Michigan summer. Patrick wore them while taking care of his kids, to graduate nursing classes, hiking, camping, and everything in between. In addition, he built a deck, patio, and pergola in them.

All that wear caused the crotch to thin out, so Patrick patched it up with some old denim scraps. In addition to the jeans, he’s thrown in the leather belt he’s worn for roughly the past 13 years. Patrick is thinking about which jeans to get next, but grad school, kids, a mortgage, and a wife who likes home improvement aren’t helping his budget. Any suggestions for him?
