Fade of the Day – Léon Denim LD 1947 (3 Years, 12 Washes, 8 Soaks)

Are you a fan of classic, straighter cuts? Do you like subdued, vintage-style fades? If so then you’re in luck because that’s just what we have for you with today’s Fade of the Day.

This pair of Léon Denim LD 1947 jeans come to us from Raul Lejano, one of the co-founders of Léon Denim in the Philippines. Raul has been wearing these jeans since April 16, 2016, which he dutifully recorded on one of the pocket bags. Aside from that, Raul says he didn’t do anything out-of-the-ordinary in them. He wore them as part of a rotation of 4 different jeans, but these were his go-to pair.

What’s resulted is a pair of subtly beautiful jeans with a greyish blue peaking through the deep, dark indigo. Whiskers are there, honeycombs are rising, the back pockets are getting gnarly, and the concealed rivets are itching to claw through the denim. So far the jeans haven’t needed any repairs, but Raul says the crotch is thinning about as much as is expected at the 3-year mark. Still, they look to us like they have some years more in them.
