Another day, another well-worn and loved artifact for you courtesy of our Fade of the Day. This time out we have a pair of Sage Ranger IV jeans that weigh in at a chunky 19oz. and come to us from Michael Cook of Texas.

Despite being heavyweight jeans and machine-washed just three times in two years, these jeans lack any of the extreme, high-contrast fades we might expect from a pair such as this. Instead, Michael has achieved something far more classic, almost dad-washy, with this pair. The whiskers and honeycombs are strong, but the jeans haven’t just faded in those spots. What’s left is a much more vintage look.

Michael even says he went the first five months without washing these jeans. And that was a “shower wash”, i.e. he wore them in the shower and then line dried them. Aside from his washing routine, Michael says he wore them for work, hiking, play, and travel. Whatever else it is you’re doing Michael, keep it up.
