Hender Scheme Weaves a Natural Veg-Tan Leather Loafers

Founded in 2010, Tokyo based Hender Scheme is the brainchild of Ryo Kashiwazaki. The brand’s claim to fame was producing popular sneaker models like Nike’s Air Force 1 and New Balance’s 1300 in premium vegetable-tanned leather. And while the price point might be hard to stomach, the quality and construction of the product speaks for itself.

As we fly into the spring and summer months, Hender Scheme has released their classy Woven Leather Loafers, drawing inspiration from traditional huarache sandals. Made in Japan from high-quality premium leather, they’ve got a distinctive summer flare and slim profile. They feature a leather lining which will mold to your feet over time and a woven upper with a weave that’s denser and more varied than their traditional Mexican counterparts.
