Raleigh’s Kikkou Denim Engineers Stretch Into its Weave Without Synthetics

Some days, it’s about comfort. But, if you’re a denim purist, on no days is it about stretch denim. It’s practically a slur in our community. Elastane in the weave? Are you crazy?

Lucky for us, Raleigh has got a new denim that naturally stretches, but is totally free of elastane! Their Kikkou denim is based on a Japanese textile of the same name. Translating to tortoise shell, this historic Japanese fabric actually looks like bunches of teeny tiny tortoise shells when you get up close. This intricate pattern is what gives the denim its stretch, making it more comfortable than the average twill without using the dreaded elastane purists so loathe. Cut into Raleigh’s Jones fit, this classic slim straight will make a great alternative to your heavy, stiff jeans that you dread wearing during the summer.

Available for $250 at Raleigh.
