Atelier & Repairs Celebrates Golden Week with a Hawaiian Shirt/Noragi Hybrid

In an unrelated life, I help manage some social media accounts and there are few things I hate more than fake holidays*, so I was pleased to learn that Golden Week is a huge deal in Japan and also that Atelier & Repairs made The Golden Week Shirt.

(*For instance, there is absolutely no reason to have both a National Pepperoni Pizza Day and a National Pizza Day. Just wrap them both into Pizza Day and then also cancel Pizza Day because we’re adults and we don’t need a holiday to give us permission to eat probably the most popular food in the country. Anyways.)

Is A&R a Japanese label? Absolutely not. But the shirt is a good shirt, so let’s roll with it. Made in the USA from various “vintage and modern” cotton fabrics sourced from both Japan and the USA, each of these short-sleeved shirts is a little (sometimes a lot) different, but they all have buttonless plackets and they all are aggressively summery, which is a very most definitely a positive.

Again, however, these are all different, so if you’re into the idea, make sure you call ahead and ask what you’re in for. Or don’t. You know, because summer and Golden Week and cool prints and all that.

Available for $245 at Blue in Green.
