The Factory Made Takes a Stab at Sashiko Hats

I’m not really an accessory guy, but I wear hats entirely too much, and this is by any objective metric. I’m literally wearing a hat indoors right now for no reason. I’m by myself, it’s not cold, it’s not too bright; I’m just sitting here, on a computer, wearing a hat. I have beanies that don’t keep my head warm, baseball hats that keep it too warm and pretty much everything in between, but I actually don’t have anything quite like this indigo-dyed, sashiko-stitched The Factory Made FM544 Cap.

Dutifully referencing vintage Murderers Row-era baseball designs (and one newsboy cap) and crafted in Japan with a range of 100% cotton denim fabrics, each of these beautifully rendered caps feature a six-panel crown, stitched eyelets, unstructured brims and an adjustable leather strap.

It’s that sashiko, however, which really makes ‘em pop. One has a diamond stitch pattern at the brim, one has a striped crown that’s throwing some serious inverse Providence Grays vibes and the newsboy joint has a diamond pattern also, but at the crown this time.

Do I want one? Yes, yes I do. Will I get one? We’ve discussed my impulse control before, so probably. You should too.
