We always appreciate a good repair, and today’s Fade of the Day showcases Austin Siegert’s efforts in perfecting his sashiko skills (and some nice whiskers and other fades, of course).

Sent in from Brooklyn, New York, these Levi’s Vintage Clothing 1933 501 jeans have seen three washes during three years of wear and feature notes on the inside pocket bag denoting the dates of each one. Though they’re light on honeycombs, this pair has some great high-contrast indigo-loss, whiskering and plenty of patched-up parts to speak for. Following a crotch blow out, Austin sought Levi’s expertise to have it mended, but all that red sashiko stitching is his own handiwork – he says he’s constantly improving, so we’ll be waiting for more evidence of his progress.
