Fade Friday – Samurai Jeans x Denimio S710XX16OZ-DMO (2.5 Years, 5 Washes)

Once in a while you see the perfect jeans. Stunning fabric, robust fades, and no repairs. Don’t get me wrong, I love repairs because they add so much character and individuality but seeing fading this intense without wearing down the fabric is miraculous. This week’s Fade Friday, from Ferdinand Andrew in Indonesia, is a pair of Samurai Jeans that are high-contrast perfection.

With five washes and no soaks, the jeans have stayed relatively dark except for the areas of daily wear which have brightened significantly. In other words, the dark areas provide the ideal background to showcase the lively fades. Firstly, the whiskers and honeycombs on these things are so bright that they look backlit. Next, I need to know what you did Ferdinand, to get the thighs so white. I am thinking a few minutes with a rotary buffer everyday. And how the heck do you get creases on the seat of the jeans that extend to the back pockets like that? That is a fading white whale if I’ve ever seen one.

I think the point is, how Ferdinand achieved such an impressive arsenal of fades is his business, we are just lucky he sent in the pictures for the world to see.
