Left Field’s Latest Jeans are Literally Bananas

What can we say about Left Field’s latest denim offering? Well, these jeans are bananas, B, A, N, A, N, A, S…Sorry, we couldn’t resist (again). But seriously, denim with 30% banana fibers? We were as shocked as you are. We’ve heard of seaweed selvedge, but how can bananas be integrated into denim production?

Well, the fibers used are similar to that of Sugar Cane and will give the jeans some outstanding slub and nep over time. Coming in a modest 12.5oz. Japanese selvedge from Collect Mills, they’re ideal for the warmer months and enough to garner the attention of denim heads all over. Alongside a banana color yellow selvedge outer seam, they also feature a brass Scovill top button, hidden rivets on the back pockets, a hidden selvedge coin pocket and bandanna pocket bags, as well as US-made Universal fastener burrs and tacks. In terms of the fit, the Atlas Jean has a roomy top block but with a tapered leg opening. With all the usual hallmarks of quality and the details of Left Field denim, they’re definitely one of your five a day.

Available for $220 at Left Field.
