Sam Pinkerton from Washington D.C. is cooking up something special for today’s Fade of the Day. Not only do his overdyed jeans from Iron Heart look cool, they are a breath of fresh denim air.

Working as an elementary school art teacher, Sam has the opportunity to wear his jeans to work and has done so for the last three months. Thats right, Sam has done this much damage in just a quarter of a year!  What is even more admirable about Sam and his submission is that he’s actually recorded the number of wears he has invested: 83 and counting.  Normally when people say they have worn their jeans for “x” amount of time, its  hard to tell what that really means. Well, with Sam, there is no beating around the indigo plant.

In the 83 times Sam has worn his jeans, he has accumulated some promising fades including inklings of whiskers and honeycombs and stronger areas of fading like creases around the lower legs and the bright seat.  The overdying aspect of these jeans is like a shell that needs to be chipped away over time and Sam is off to a great start.
