Fade of the Day – Levi’s Vintage Clothing 1947 501 (7 Years, 4 Washes, Unknown Soaks)

Can I just say how happy I am to see a pair of wider cut jeans in the Fade of the Day inbox? I can? Because I am writing the article? OK. Mifflin Mabalot from Baguio City, Philippines has a pair of Levi’s Vintage Clothing 1947 501s that are oh so ready for the fading block.

For over seven years, through four washes, and tons of soaks, Mifflin has been conditioning this pair of denim for their special day. Welp, today is that day! Mifflin has worn them almost every day and it’s showing heavily.  If you ever wanted to see a perfect example of  vintage-style fades, look no further. The distinct lines stick out like bones in an archeology dig: they are well-hidden but are treasures.

However, possibly the greatest feature of these jeans are not even on display.  Over seven years, not only have these jeans garnered gorgeous fades, but they have consequently needed some routine maintenance. In dealing with these, Mifflin has had the hem chainstitched by hand, the button fly reconstructed, the crotch reinforced, and the pockets repaired. If this doesn’t make for a truly personalized pair, nothing will!
