Fade of the Day – Unknown Leather Belt (10+ Years)

Mystery time! We don’t know who made this leather belt but we do know that it’s a class example of a hard-earned (and very enviable) patina. Today’s Fade of the Day has been well over a decade in the making, which you can see from the rugged crinkles and scuffs in the hide.

Marc Maraldo from Sewell, New Jersey, bought this belt from a small leather store in San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury district, but sadly he can’t remember the name, and the brand’s stamp has since worn away. Marc says he’s worn this almost every day since purchasing it sometime in about 2002, which explains the worn texture. If you look closely, you can still make out faint imprints of the stars that once decorated this leather piece.

We’re super impressed at the longevity of this belt, so, Marc, if you ever happen to remember the maker, drop us a line!
