Danner Celebrates 40 Years of Bootmaking With Full Grain Leather and Ballistic Nylon

We’ve covered Danner Boots a number of times here at Heddels. From a history of the brand, to their Japan exclusives and selected releases, it’s easy to see why Danner are a cornerstone of the boot world. Still based in Portland, Oregon, Danner have pioneered the development of outdoor footwear over the decades. Many Danner silhouettes have become timeless classics and the victims of countless imitations. One such boot is the iconic Light, a mixed-material boot which merges technology and tradition seamlessly.

For the brands 40th anniversary they have taken this understated workhorse and really upped the ante. Made from 100% full grain leather upper with 1000 denier ballistic nylon padding, the Light features stitch down construction, an ortholite sole, Gore-tex protection and a Vibram Kletterlift outsole, they’re available in an exclusive black / timber colorway for the occasion. These boots were definitely made for walking (in the city or on the trails).
