Fade Friday – RRL Straight Fit Selvedge (3.5 Years, 1 Wash, 3 Soaks)

Fade Friday? More like Fate Friday – I’ve been eyeing a pair of RRL Straight Cuts for awhile now, and now I think I’m sold. This miraculous pair comes to us from Paymon Parsia in San Francisco, who clearly doesn’t not mess around.  For the last three-and-a-half years, Paymon has evidently done it all in these jeans, holding nothing back and surrendering them to the shred.

Helped along by one wash and three soaks, these jeans have developed a charming vintage look with an authentic mix of washed out and high-contrast fading. The top block and knees have seen some heavy dye-loss, leaving a perfectly dirty, yellowy-green hue. The back of these RRLs is home to a pair of wavy honeycombs that serve as a focal point for this epic fade. However, the most impressive aspect of these jeans is the rugged patina that has developed in form of rips, scuffs, and general damages from daily abuse. They have been left to decay (in the best sense possible) and repaired only when absolutely necessary, leading to a perfectly tattered and distressed appearance.
