On the Hunt With Ginew’s Elk Down Vest

Ginew celebrates their heritage with the Elk Down Vest, which features an elk leather yoke they hunted and tanned themselves. As the only Native American-owned denim brand around (at least that we’re aware of), Ginew expresses their identity by using the hide of a hunted animal into their wares in their words to, “honor and incorporate traditional ways of being into our daily life.”

Oh, and it’s filled with 5oz. 700-fill down, so you’ll be staying warm in addition to honoring tradition. You don’t have to take this vest hunting, but you it wouldn’t likely let you down if you did.

In an autumnal color scheme, the Elk Down Vest in olive features classic alpine vest styling with a simple quilted pattern, brass zipper on the front, Ginew-stamped brass snap closure, Ginew branded tags, and deep front welt pockets to help keep the falling snow off the hands and forearms. All made in the USA in a family-owned sewing factory on the Puget Sound.

Available for $595 at Ginew.
