Fade Friday – Sage Ranger IV (2 Years, 8 Months, Unknown Washes, 6 Soaks)

For this weeks Fade Friday, Bagol Gede and his Sage Ranger IV have survived 2 years and 8 months together with no signs of letting up. Wearing them during the week for work and on the weekend while doing outdoor activities such as photography, traveling, riding motorcycles, and also hanging out with friends, it is no surprise that these jeans look like they do: they get no chance to put their leg holes up and relax!

In addition to the relentless wear, 6 washes, and many, many soaks have contributed to an extremely washed out pair. I mean come on, if you squint, these are basically white jeans. However these jeans are special because the few indigo holdouts showcase statement fades like layers of honeycombs mimicking layered hills and whiskers that have evolved so much that they are in fact disappearing.

It’s not too surprising that after all this time and activity, some points in the denim have worn down. With Bagol’s pair, the crotch is the culprit, needing four separate repairs. However these repairs don’t phase him one bit and it is only with this “jeans are meant to be worn to the ground” attitude, that someone can achieve fades of this caliber. Well done.
