I was going to ask for someone to name a simpler, more functional, yet classically designed jacket than the N-1 Deck Jacket but I don’t have a spare forever.
Stevenson Overall’s Civilian Deck Jacket in Olive might make the Navy jealous. Respectfully channeling many of the same features that made the N-1 a military, vintage, and heritage wear staple, they have also made some tasteful upgrades. For example, SO has upgraded the jungle cloth outer shell to a soft cotton sateen, drawing inspiration from the M-43 liner jacket. Another big change is the move from an alpaca lining to a sheep shearling.
Closed out with a chinstrap, adjustable sleeve straps, and slash front pockets, this Japan-made jacket will protect you in the harshest conditions while keeping you comfortable.
