Iron Heart Canters Into The Tail End of Winter With a Horsehide Type III

We all love horsehide leather, but not all of us are cut out for the zippers and snaps of those most classic leather jacket cuts. That’s right, Perfecto cuts, we’re talking to you. Sometimes we want all the leather without looking like a Tom of Finland drawing (not that there’s anything wrong with that) and our good friends at Iron Heart have the answer.

Iron Heart’s newest horsehide offering comes in their much-beloved modified Type III cut and does it up in leather. The modified jacket comes a tad longer than classic Type IIIs and features the crucial addition of hand warmer pockets. The horsehide is chrome-tanned in Himeji, Japan and is certainly heavy-duty. Thankfully, Iron Heart makes sure the construction is just as hardcore and everything about this jacket will improve with time.

The initial sheen on the hide will slowly fade away, and give the teacore leather a chance to shine. The pocket bags are constructed from heavy olive twill and their placement makes for two internal pockets in which to hide your contraband.

All in all, Iron Heart brings us a jacket with all the toughness and durability of a classic leather jacket with a more under-the-radar silhouette and detailing.

Available for $1,300 at Iron Heart.
