“As strong as the rugged tundra, as solid as the frozen mountains, we present you The Iceberg”. No, this isn’t an infomercial for a new ice cream flavor or craft beer, but the latest offering from Sage in the form of 22oz. selvedge denim
For those who are nuts enough to wear such a heavyweight jean into the warmer months, this could be just what you’ve been looking for. Coming in at $130 of your finest American dollars, The Iceberg is made with a loomstate deep indigo denim from Japanese raw materials milled in Sage’s Indonesian factory.
The jeans feature a blue/silver selvedge ID, raised belt loops, hidden rivets, mountain-inspired gold arcuate, a veg-tanned cowhide patch and enough texture to make the approach to Everest look like a gentle hill walk.
The devil is really in the detail here, with Sage using a heavy right hand twill and deep indigo to produce a jean which sits comfortably with the heavyweights of the denim world but at half the price. Coming soon to a Fade Friday near you.
