Netflix show, Tiger King, definitely uncovered an underbelly of the exotic animal trade none of us wanted to know existed. Until recently, I associated leopard print with flowy skirts worn by glam blondes on LA’s boujee West Side, but now I can’t help but think of Joe Exotic and his bizarre empire of big cats, dodgy dealings, and animal abuse.
If you want to channel the better parts of Joe Exotic – i.e. his animal print-laden steez – take a look at the Leopard Print Belt from Cause & Effect. The hand-painted design upon rough-out suede is certainly a statement, but it will surely chip away and patina with time into an overall subtler belt.
The whole thing is finished off with a stippled steel buckle with a brass hook. Made in North Carolina by hand, these belts will give a pop of that flamboyant cat-owner energy without going fully to the dark side.
