Pure Blue Japan Rinses Its 16.5 oz. SLB-019 Jean Just For Self Edge

You can admit it, you guys love slub. Slub, slub, slub; it’s all you see on Reddit’s denim corners. Everyone’s trying to find the slubbiest jean on the market, so if you’re planning on going that route, why not go with one of the slub masters?

Pure Blue Japan has just released a new denim in their immensely popular xx-019 fit. This straight taper has a lot going for it:  a generous top block paired with the brand’s signature dramatic taper. The new fabric, called the SLB, weighs in at 16.5oz. and is available at Self Edge in the retailer’s exclusive rinse.

Typically when you buy unsanforized jeans, you can get them totally unwashed, or if you want them pre-shrunk, they’ll typically be aggressively one-washed in an industrial machine to get the shrink out. This exclusive rinse with Self Edge gives the jeans a warm inside-out soak, much like you would at home. This more gentle process gets most of the shrinkage out, without removing that starchy raw feel we all love.

This denim definitely isn’t as out there as PBJ’s recently-released Snow Denim, but it has tons of character, a perfect heft, and all the breathability and comfort you could expect from the brand’s famous low-tension weave.

Available (in this special rinse) for $365 at Self Edge
