Fade Friday – Leon Denim LD001-STF (10 Months, 1 Wash, 1 Soak)

I have never felt more inspired to put on some raw denim than after looking at this weeks Fade Friday. In 10 months, Mifflin Mabalot’s has gotten his pair of Leon Denim lookin’ better than some jeans look in their whole…careers? Lives? Are jeans alive? Did I mention its only been 10 months?

Mifflin got those receipts, fam. Since June 14th, 2019, and the time of his submission, he went ahead and wore these late entrants to the Indigo Invitation Fading Contest 285 out of 292 days. And after a few hours researching and reaching out to multiple friends, I’ve deduced that this amounts to only 7 off days.

Software engineer by week and leather artisan by weekend (movie idea, called it), Mifflin does it all in these jeans and sees them as a second skin, which is the mindset you need if you want to cook up fades like these in such a short amount of time.

Monster honeycombs. Cobwebbed knee creases. Some other insect adjacent analogy. I think I can finally put a double cuff on what I like most about these things. They look like a pair of vintage denim jeans . Especially the dirty aging on the near-white patches that really set offs the plethora of blue hues that all work together in harmony.
