NYC’s Black Lives Matter Protests In Pictures by Eric Kvatek

Eric Kvatek is a Brooklyn-based photographer known for his work with Kapital, PRPS, and his candid shots taken in conflicted areas. Living in NYC, it was only natural for Kvatek to take the streets to document the protests that have been happening in the wake of the police killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and countless other Black Americans.

What we’re seeing in some U.S. cities is indeed powerful, however, the response to the protests from some facets of the American government has been widely criticized, and there has been countless reports and footage of further police brutality towards protestors. The faint silver lining of this situation is the solidarity to address systemic and structural racism, police brutality, and white supremacy. But there is a lot more work to be done.

Eric was kind enough to share these photos with us.
